Community Engagement 101

This three day-long workshop series introduces participants to the world of community engagement and gives hands-on skills and coaching to help build and implement a community engagement strategy.

Workshop 1: Understanding community engagement

  • What Community Engagement is and what it is not
  • Community Engagement in a New Zealand context – where legislation fits
  • An ideal relationship with your community looks like and how you can help achieve it
  • The benefits of investing in your community through Community Engagement

Workshop 2: Building and implementing a community engagement strategy
You will leave this workshop…
  • Understanding templates that can help build a Community Engagement strategy
  • Getting and using those templates
  • Having started the process of using the templates to build a Community Engagement strategy
  • With the confidence to do it!
  • With an action plan

Workshop 3: Creating and using a community engagement toolbox
You will leave this workshop knowing…
  • What should be in a toolbox and how to create one
  • The importance of understanding community communication preferences
  • The need to link engagement objectives with communication preferences
  • How to identify target audiences
  • How to select the right tools

These interactive and interlinking workshops are designed for up to 20 participants and while designed as a series can also be attended as one-off events.

Registration & pricing

Our pricing for workshops varies depending on whether they are in-house or external.
  • In-house events - Cost based on $4,160 plus GST and agreed disbursements for each full day
  • External events -  the cost will be $750 plus GST per person per workshop day or $1,650 plus GST per person, for a three-day workshop series, if all three workshops are booked together.
